Post Los Angeles

It's an odd place to be sure .

The weather is mostly mild but like any other place, freaks and geeks abound .

Many people mistakenly think California is a liberal place, it most assuredly isn't and gets ever more alt right crazy the father away from the three big cities you get .

OTOH, I've been here more than not since the Summer of 1969 and hope to remain here and eventually die right here in the land of fruits, nuts and flakes .

Sounds like you reside in a cereal box. With flakes, fruit and nuts. Actually from a distance what I hear is that California is just different. Crazy different at times. To us in the far north we envy your climate though.

My father in his youth spent 14 years there. Of course way back then it had to have been much different. That was well over a hundred years ago now.

To me California reminds me a lot of Canada. Another fine place to visit.

Thumbs up The Land Of.........

......Pretty much whatever you want it to be ~

In the three largest cities is fairly progressive but as soon as you're past the suburbs California, all of it, becomes incredibly Conservative, IMO that's part of what keeps it from going off the deep end .

Many who live elsewhere are envious and love to slam California without knowing anything about it .

It's not cheap to live here but you do get a very good dollar value for your taxes .

I grew up way Down East so I'm very Conservative in nature but real Conservatism, not this current B.S. where they lie cheat and steal endlessly and try to blame anyone else for the messes they alone create .

Talking California Living

Barry ;

It's *exactly* what you said but like most places, can be a nice place to live .

Especially if you've previously lived in some not so nice places, I have .

I have not lived in a few places I have experienced. I do not think the vast majority of people could even imagine they exist. If the truck or car I was in broke down. I probably would have just walked away.

Called the police if they would come if I found a phone. There were no cell phones back then. You really should have had a gun in a couple of them. As I saw it the residents had nothing to lose no matter what they did. Most where almost like zombies. You had to be there.
