cool feeling

Isn't It a cool feeling when your at a shopping mall parking lot and your decide to park your benz 2 miles away from the front entrance far away from other cars. when you return you find someone parked right next to you even though the mall isn't busy and there are a million other empty parking spaces. Anyone experience this?

well, I guess it's cool depending on how you look at it. sometimes when that happens to me I get the feeling it's just someone trying to irritate me -- as if they think I must believe my car is too perfect to risk parking amongst theirs. But what often happens to me, and IS cool, is that I will come out and find another Mercedes next to me, with no other cars anywhere near us.

When that happens to me it has always been someone that cares about their obviously nice car. Birds of a feather park together….

If its an old beater car that parked too close just for the sole purpose of irritating me, I do NOT find it amusing.

I always park my car against a curb, as close as I can get to it. This leaves only one possible side to get dented, not two, and on the exposed side, there is a huge amount of room. If a car were to park next to me, they would usually have to park over the line and partially in my spot to even get their doors to reach my car in full-swing open.

Respect

I always park my car away from other vehicles myself, and normally come back to find it with similar type cars either side.If there isn't a lot of space left I'll find another Mercedes or a BMW to park next to,because they're likely to have more respect for the old girl's bodywork.Bear

There is an attraction that can't be explained. Perhaps they long to be close to you ... and your car.

I always park away from the traffic. shopping carts, doors, Ect.
I have ran into some crazy situations parking in "Egypt" (thats what my friends say) One day, when parking in Egypt, this guy parked so close to my driver side door i had to get in from the passinger side!! He probobly did it to piss me off. Another time I had a car right against my bumper! I am a petty nice guy until you scratch my car ,,,,,,,, so I left a big "Z" in his door with my keys.

What a great post. I thought I was the only fanatical "lone parker," but I'm glad to know that others park the same way I do. Glad I'm not alone.

I often do the same thing...I'll park well out of everyone's way, and I'll come back to find another Benz, or Porsche, or some other nice dent-free ride parked beside me...I'm sure they're thinking that they can trust me not to bash their door with mine, and they are right!

On the other hand, if wide open spaces are limited, I'll try to park next to a nice, dent-free car, in hopes that they care enough about their car not to bash mine with it!

One thing I NEVER do is park at an angle, taking up two spaces (seems to be a bad habit for a lot of BMW and SUV owners here in Atlanta). I've seen people get angry at someone for being an a**hole by taking up two spaces, and they keyed their car. That's just asking for trouble, especially in an already crowded parking lot.

I have a confession, I'm one of those who goes out of the way to park near your Mercedes Sometimes there are three or four parked in a row. Now in David's case, living in Newport Beach and all, they do it to get away from Mercedes Benzes!

Talking Parking Lunacy

I hate this .

I too park far away and don't mind walking, it's good for my old fat heart etc .

Then some goof parks not only next to me but too close so I have to squeeze my fat old self into my car whilst holding the outer edge of the door.....

What, is this comb through the archives and resurrect OLLLLD threads week?

Shortly after a acquired my cherry looking '84 300D I was driving through Oregon, it was cold and I really wanted a wool or faux wool beanie. I stopped at a Walmart in Salem, when I came out there was a totally cherry 300DT parked next to me. Dunno what I was thinking, I should have got a photo. THAT I liked.
