I have had animals for as long as I can remember. Mainly cats growing up but I have also had dogs for the last 17 some years. Animals are always inside. The dogs go outside and are always supervised. The litter boxes are cleaned (sifted) 2 times a week on garbage day. The litter boxes are in an enclosed kennel beside the sun room. There are shelves out there as well for them to hang out on when the weather is nice. Numerous cat towers for them to climb on.

Anyone who would scald a cat to teach a lesson is vile as far as I am concerned. I use a squirt bottle is someone is doing something wrong and that is all that is needed.

Cats instinctively know to use a litter box. It is hard wired into them to bury their feces so as to help hide the scent.

My experience is that if a cat is not using a litter box there are other issues that at play whether it is health or mental. UTI's have been the culprit numerous times here. There are also personality conflicts that we have had to deal with by separating sleeping areas and litter boxes.

Animals require time and patients.

He was joking about the cat peeing while taking a shower. Turn off your CNN filters and read whats there. Not what you want to.

You do not know it any better than I do. I did read what it wrote. It is an incredibly angry unstable person and made a comment about scalding a cat.

I take it at face value.

My son and his girlfriend taught their cat to use the toilet. Cat has not learned how to flush however....

A friend of mine taught his to flush but wouldnt stop. Like to watch the water spin. He had to go back to a box.
