Tom. Paypal must now have a substantial security problem. I knew they had a problem for some time. When they constantly had to verify it was me. In doing so they never ask anything sensitive. They just send an email to me.
asking if it is me. I click yes and the transaction proceeds.

When it comes to the point of my having to provide sensitive information to do this. Like changing the password. I would think scam. Sounds by your post it has gotten even worse security wise for paypal though in general.

As for a human to talk to. The best of luck.


I also think we have not seen any really sophisticated phone scams. Compared to what may come.

Today I logged in and changed my password and closed the mc account which it appeared to have some info about. No money missing from there I don't think.

I never follow emailed links to log in to anything. I always go to the site directly.

I have also gotten these fishing emails for my Amazon account.

Yeah, me too but this didn't look like a link, so I guess I was fooled. It was a button to click. I think I'll spend all the money in paypal and resist using it any more.
