Help:Indicator Lights up

I have found out that the last indicator on my dashboard console (A circle with an exclamation mark in thecenter (!) ) lights up occassionally when i am driving . It started after a spate of hard driving one weekend i was out with my fiancee and ever since then it comes on and goes off.

Be that as it may , I would like to know what exactly this light indicates and I would like to know what this is before it turns into a major problem.

Will appreciate ur advice .

I think thats the exterior bulb out indicator. I would check all exterior bulbs, including the bulb in yoru 3rd brake housing.

Sounds like it might be your ASR Indicator... showing that there is minimal traction and the ASR is operating.

What year/model is your car?

My 500 had this light and it did not have ASR what is was was for the back brake sensor and the front had the ABS light.
I think the ASR light says ASR on it but I could be wrong.

Question Back Brake Sensor

What is this please? What does it do ? Is it a bulb as Ashman suggested? And please where is the 3rd brake housing?

Still open to advice.

in my car manual it says that if the light goes on and stays on until after you turn the motor off then it's one of the brake lights or turn signal indicator. if it's a headlight or foglamp, it will go on when you switch the headlight on, then off when you switch the headlight off.

According to page 14 in my mannual for the 500 it is
"Brake pad wear indicator (yellow) Lights up during braking if the front wheel brake pads are worn down see page 53"
PAGE 53
"The brake pad wear indicator in the instrument cluster lights up when the steering lock is turned to driving postion "2" and must go out when the engine is idilong. If the indicator lights up during braking , This shoes that the front wheel brake pads are worn.
The brake system should be checked in a MERCEDES-BENZ service station as soon as possible"
This might have changed on the new cars to

The amber circle with an exclamation mark in the center light is indeed the "exterior bulb out" indicator. Check the obvious such as brake and headlights, but also the 3rd brake (if your car has one), license plate lights, and side marker lights. Please note this light will only come on if the light burned out should be in use. Example: if you have a headlight out, the bulb out indicator will only come on when you have the headlights turned on...or if you have a burned out brake light, the light will illuminate when you press the brakes.

The brake pad sensor light looks more like this...

((O)) except the (( and )) are dashed lines, simulating brake pads going around the rotor.

Hope this helps!
