Here is the link:

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1988-mercedes-benz-560sec-20/

Prices for 560SEC's are going through the roof because of BAT, here is a modified, non original wide body that recently sold for $245,000...

Glad to see they are getting the visibility they deserve. I have wanted to add a 107 to my fleet of 1 for a while but I'm holding out for a 350SL Stick shift.

That is a beautiful car. That was top dollar for then.

My 84 500 sec I bought in about 1994 with 80K on it for about 8K, drove up to 140k in three years and stopped driving it for no really good reason took three years to sell IIRC and I gave it away for 3 or 4K. I seldom regret selling any car but I sometimes regret selling it.

This burgundy one looks to be nicer than mine.

Mine was rust free silver over navy blue leather. It had euro front lights and was in pretty good shape with wheels like the one you sold Tyler. It was a #3 though.

560SEL's are getting some love as well, auction started this morning and already up to $12K+. BAT inflation is real for sure.

I think that the w126 sedans have aged a bit more gracefully than the coupes, although I still pine for a w126 convertible conversion like the one driven by Pebbles in her "Mercedes Boy" video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQS0t5Hdc6M

Scroll to around 3:30 to see the car in question...

The 126 is a lovely design. It also looks aerodynamic. I still see them tooling around now and then.

For some reason I was thinking 560SL 107 when you posted. They sure are doing well on BAT. They are very popular and there always seems to be a few. Most mid 80's luxury cars are long gone.

They built and sold a lot of the 107s.
