One of my brothers recently took a job with Raytheon (is that United Technologies or Allstate now? It was bought out) in Tucson. My wife and I drove out there in a meandering roundabout way (with XT6!). First time in years I could breathe through my nose without a death rattle. The light pollution in Tucson is big, even though the city is really trying hard to darken the sky through light conservation measures I was also surprised by the humidity in the evening/night. Like the sun roasted moisture out of the rocks all day and condensed at night. NOTHING like Louisiana, where we get puddles of condensate under anything metal. Like a telescope. OMG.
The night sky north of Grand Canyon was spectacular. As good as I’ve ever seen, other than far out in the ocean on a calm midwatch.
