The advances in animation.
I think it is pretty impressive how real it has become. Animation from the 80's or 90' cannot even come close to the realism that todays animation has.
https://www.insider.com/how-pixar-revolutionized-way-clothes-are-animated-digital-cloth-technology-2020-3 The details that are included make it look so natural that you do not even realize how real it is.

Years ago I met a kid who was in to computers. He was about seven. He told me someday they would rule animation.
I remember telling him it would take massive computers to do this. Little did I know how cheap the massive would someday be. Today the guy makes about a million a year doing graphic work for the networks, most of it animation. He also works on commercials and is in the development stages of some ground breaking stuff for point of purchase advertising and billboards. I am not the best person to ask about tech. |

Its interesting to watch the Talks on the Star Wars Clone and Rebels. They have Dave Feloni and others talk about story lines etc. Some of it is the advancements in animation from earlier work and why some characters wore Robes etc. Also, how they could shade or shadow scenes. In one of the latter Rebel episodes, one of the train duel looked very fluid and quite real.
I still like the puppet of Yoda. |
