We'll have to see what turns up. I found a ten year old build of a 34 roadster. Very subtletly detailed. Nice interior, small block ford v8, two inch chop on the roof. I think the ford motor will possibly suppress the value a bit, but I like them.....the cobra connection.

It is in an auction online so not sure what the price will be. I'll need to sell something.

It sold today. I was second high bidder. It went past my high limit and another good lump before I with regret let it go. It looks to be a really nice car.

A '34 would technically be a "C" if it had the 4 banger.....

I have close to zero experience with flathead Ford V8's but I worked on plenty of the OHV V8's in the 1960's & 70's , Y blocks are IMO very good engines but don't wait for the starter to fail as it'll always conk out on a hot day and you'll soon understand why I warned you...

I'm sure the '34 you're looking at has a modern Ford engine .

It does...a five liter fuel injected with an automatic od tranny. It is also a 33 technically rather than 34.

Hah! This made me laugh (and groan!). Well, do I remember changing out those starters. I'll bet 85-90% of those V8's of the era only had 2 of the 3 starter mounting bolts replaced after a change and almost none of them had the heat shields replaced.

I remember old Y block Ford V8's steaming into the gas station like the Titanic, it was always that doggone 2" long by pass hose between the back of the water pump and the engine....

Back then we weren't allowed to wait, starter or blown hose I had to get right on it ~ first you'd scrape your knuckles then the open sore would be burned on the right side exhaust manifold...

Oddly I like those old Fords much more now than I did then .

I had two 1962 full size Fords , a V8 ranch wagon (great car, G.F. beat it to death) and a Two Door Galaxy from Arizona that was tan , 240CID i6 engine and over drive ~ I shoulda kept that one, it was fantastic .

In the mid 1970's I had Customers who raced mid 60's Fords on the oval and figure 8 tracks....

Especially the figure eight racing.

For some really strange good old American weirdness, look up "Train Racing" ~ it's categorically insane and I love it .

There was a real nice 34 roadster rid I bid on up to my limit and did not get. I am probably off that kick for now. The ones I really want are pretty salty and probably would disappoint in person.

Last week I went up to Grand Rapids and looked at a 34 Chevy cabrio. It was nicely done but used door poppers which seem like one step too far for a car to be driven. It also looked like the top does not work correctly either. It had a really lovely chassis with irs in back though and sounded exquisite when the engine was started up. It had to be jumped. I asked them if people really buy cars without starting them or driving them and the lady said "people send them money and they ship the car sight unseen all the time."

I said "not me".
