Let's write a Story, using tools instead ,of real words.

As I approached her, I tripped over my tool box. I landed at her beautiful bare feet, took out my soft wet brush, and wiped away road dust.

Thumbs up Writing

I wish I could use words well like many do, there's lots of stories and ideas I'd like to share .

Start by just writing them down in your own voice. Then set it aside for a few weeks and go back to it. Cut as many words then as you can. Look for the word 'that' in your writing and take it out.

Start with thousands of words and cut them down to hundreds of words.

It takes some time to get the hang of it. But if you keep it up you will.

Thumbs up Good Advice !

However, I've been writing for many decades and still don't think I'm any good at it .

Let someone else read it and trust what they tell you.

At one point in my life I attended a screenwriters group of amateur screenwriters. The guy that ran it asked me to show up and help others to trim down their writing.

A person would read about twenty minutes of their script and then the rest of the group would tear it apart. In every case the story was improved.

The hard part for most people is their bruised ego. News flash: Hollywood does not care about your ego. They care about how cheap they can make a film.

Find a book called The Hero With a Thousand Faces. It reduces storytelling to what has worked for the last ten thousand years.
