Convert diesel or gas car to EV?

Pipe dreaming or it is possible? I think driving an EV is inevitable. I have a number of diesel so buying a new EV is not in the plan plus the waiting time is long even if I wanted to. My plan is to convert one of them to EV. Anyone here thought about it? Any suggestions?

You trade the car in question in for a used Tesla.

Here’s one of a guy putting a Tesla motor into a BMW E30.

Sort of breaks my heart, I sold my first E30 for $500 several years back. Had an electric gremlin which I could not find. I don’t get it, only 450k. But I didn’t have room for it and was worn out on trying to find it. Might have needed a new harness.

Would probably be better donors for the project anyway.
