I hate it when that happens.

Who knows, looks like it can be salvaged, but still ...

I saw one of those up close at the Palo Alto auto concourse back around ‘04. Pretty wild.

If its a real one (not likely) it will be repaired.

At least the driver had the good taste to have his shirt match his car…

According to the web, those are built by Ford with Shelby’s supervision. Not built in the 60s, the program to build this particular series started in 2004.

I don’t know if it’s just a coincidence or what, but the car that got cracked up here and the one in the linked article have the same paint scheme.

I think if I spent $700k on a car that just about anybody should know would be tricky to control, especially at first, I think I’d see if I could find a garage for rent at or near a good race track, one that allows renting of track time, or something like that. One should really use caution in getting a feel for a car with that sort of potential.

Wasn't there a movie about Ford versus Ferrari at Le Mans? The stories I've heard over the years say Ford tried to buy Ferrari but Ferrari said no. So Ford developed a racing team for the specific purpose of defeating Ferrari at Le Mans. Those Ford GT40s ran all over Ferrari.......

He really did it. It probably will not buff out. Not unusual to see extensive damage when powerful cars and new owners are combined.

looking at he black band above the headlights, the crashed car has narrow bands above the un-crashed blue car has wide bands. It is possible the crash pushed them under the fender though.
