They never told me when I enrolled this car or the GLK. I called them several times over the years on my cell phone to ask questions and there was nothing flagged in the account notating that the car had not communicated with MBrace for several years.

I just need to figure out how to sue MBrace on small claims. I think I have a good case.
Unless .... you didn't read and follow all the instructions.

Nope. There were no directions to do so. I asked them for this in print and they had nothing. Was never told by either agent to do so. And I was never alerted to this fact on the numerous calls I made to MBrace.

There are three options for activating your mbraceŽ service:

Visit your local dealer to complete an mbraceŽ subscriber agreement,
Call the mbraceŽ Response Center directly toll-free at (888)-581-6915 or
Push the i-Button in your vehicle.

which did you do?

Odd:

Automatic Collision Notification
If an air bag or seat-belt Emergency Tensioning Device is activated, your Mercedes-Benz can automatically place a call to the mbrace Emergency Response Center and report your location, even if you can't.

I read it as this is what the vehicle is capable of...this car can go 155MPH. If you get in an accident, this care can save your life.

I goofed a bit, that was for 2016+, not the 2014 you had. they don't say as much about it without a log in. You might have a log in, check it and let us know: https://www.mbusa.com/en/mbrace2

not all repair shops do the same quality of work, I have seen "clean title" cars that had the front end redone with home depot hardware where a regular car buyer wouldnt care or even know to look.

I have seen some rebuilt cars that were done with the correct technique - but due to the type mentioned above, a lot of crooks flood the market with such cars.

Those kind of damaged cars repaired by crooks with sheet metal screws holding safety items are extremely dangerous to the occupants in the event of a crash. I saw a nissan maxima crash and the hood literally went into the cabin of the car because it was literally shimmed with plastic washers to raise it as the frame must have been bent upwards in a previous crash. The raising of it caused it to be above the anchor points of the hood which holds it in place from the rear in a crash.

I dont need to tell further what happened to the driver.

Post "Rebuilt" Totalled Vehicles

Oh yes indeedy ~ my son once bought a new near Acura (? I think it was) after some rich kid had bought it then added every go fast engine up grade he could find that was C.A.R.B. legal ~ the entire front end was demolished and the guys who cobbled it back brazed instead of proper welding , didn't bother to replace and damaged A/C parts and so on.....

Looking at the front end it was obvious (to me anyway) that it had been totaled .

He loved it and I don't blame him ~ it handled like it was on rails and was scary fast once you revved the engine past 8,000 RPM ~ a place old car lovers never go and cringe when they hear the engine's racket but this thing never complained .

I once bought a 1975 VW/Porsche 914 2 liter, it had been carefully welded together out of two separate cars (wrecks I assume) and was a fun car .

I agree that many 'rebuilt' cars are dangerous .

Some are able to "wash" the title to get the "savage" label off .
