Pontiac G8. Holy Cow!
I drove one of these big sedans the other day. This was the GT. Zero to sixty in 4.9 seconds.
I discovered I am too old to be standing on the accelerator like I once did. The owner claims he once hit 168 mph before he ran out of courage. He said he can cruise at 135 all day on the open roads of west Texas. Anyone have any experience with these? |

Nope but I was aware that it is a hot rod

One of my co-workers had one and it was surprisingly fast. No way in hell it hit 168 though.

I drove one and almost bought it, back in 2012-13? It was a GT with the 6.0. Pretty quick for what it is. A good buddy of mine had an SS for a few years, that was also great fun. I keep an eye on Caprice PPV prices, they can be had cheaply with the 3.6 but you really want the v8.
That said, you should also drive the charger/challengers which are pretty equivalent to that.

Top Gear found the top speed on their runway to be 175. I once, long ago, hit 146 mph in some sort of Hot Rod. It does not take much of a bump in the road to catch your attention. The car appeals to me due to the four doors and large trunk. Uh, also the 4.9 part. |

Maybe the euro or modded version but from what i've seen it's electronically limited. https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/a15151028/2009-pontiac-g8-gxp-short-take-road-test/
still impressive though. The interior was pretty nice too, for a Pontiac. It's a great sleeper, I never would have imagined it was that fast when I saw it.
