This is why american cities are no place to raise a family, do business in or hold a job in. Merely stepping foot across the corporate city limits can turn deadly.

It appears the cops are using seat belt violations as an excuse to go on a fishing expedition. Also notice the cop holding a gun on the driver demanding he roll his window down. A robber or mugger might treat you better than that. Of course, there may be those who believe "he deserved what he got".

Then, I can't help but wonder about the safety of any pedestrians, mothers out with their babies in strollers, people walking their dogs getting caught up in the shoot out. Remember, according to the cops, you are a zero and your life is worth zero.

I mean, really, if the gunman just winged the police officer, then the cops shouldn’t have fired more than one retaliatory bullet…

the video appears to show the cops drawing their guns on him FIRST. I can't imagine anyone not feeling threatened by ANYONE drawing down on them.

This is one of the reason I live in the middle of nowhere.

We see a cop in our neighborhood once a week. Every Sunday morning they take a pass through here, look things over, and don't show up unless someone calls them.

And no one has called them for three years.

This is a private community and we take care of everything. We pay city taxes but get no city services. One of my neighbors described the whole place as 'chill'. Everyone minds their own business.

I sometimes forget and leave my garage door open. It is clear to see I have two antique cars and three large rolling chests of tools. I have never had anything walk off.

Yes, and I see it on the news all the time. "Nothing like that has ever happened in this neighborhood - what the cops did to that deaf man is shocking!!!" "He was a real nice man. Why did the cops fill him full of lead??". Right after that all the neighbors go back to watching CNN or Fox News while they munch on popcorn.

I have once, it was being held by a cop. I put my hands up and calmly explained why I was not with threat. I was 21 years old, was on a box car with two other young guys. We hopped a freight in southern Cal. The train stopped briefly going through San Luis Obispo. Like fools, we let ourselves be seen while our car was stopped on a bridge with auto traffic going underneath.

The cop lowered his gun and left us alone. At no point did I have an inclination to pull out my nonexistent firearm and try to shoot him first.

Not sure if you’ve noticed, there is an epidemic of young black dudes in Chicago who think that gunplay improves their life in some way.
