Just got back from my road trip...

Alright so over the weekend I had 3 other friends packed into my car and we drove down to Long Beach (WA) for a little vacation getaway. I just wanted to say how proud I was of my car running so solid. I drove it all the way down and back in 85-90 degree weather at 3000-3500 rpms (70-80mph) for 4 hours at a time and it didn't miss a beat and engine temp didn't pass 85. Ok, so maybe I'm getting alittle excited but this is the first MB I've owned and I'm absolutely amazed at how solid this thing runs. I just give it a tune up right on the dot when scheduled, pamper it a little and it does anything I want. By the way, I even drove it down on the beach and pulled some massive doughnuts (yeah yeah I hear the angry comments coming), but rest assured I immediately gave it a clean wash from the undercarriage on up and towel dried.

So you went to Long Beach last weekend? My ex-girlfriend was there at the same time, too. I've always wanted to go there; don't know about spinning donuts on the sand with the 380SE though....well, I guess it could be pretty fun. Too bad you didn't get a video or pic of the 300E in action at the beach, that would have been sweet.

I actually do have a few pics of it at the beach which I will post as soon as I get developed and scanned. Yeah, it's easy to pull donuts in that stuff but I felt bad about kicking up sand on the undercarraige of my car. It's easy really, just catch a little speed, turn sharp and punch her, it twirls around and just hold her down. I pulled out quick though as I didn't want to get her dug in and stuck. On the way back I enjoyed passing car after car with 4 people and packed full of luggage, I even hit one stretch passing 6 cars in one flyby accelerating from 60 to 110. What a rush

As for the vacation part, it is nice down there. Weather held up great and there was lots to do. The best part is renting those little mopeds then beating the crap out of them... too bad they set governers to limit them to 30 mph.
