Another Scammer - "Jackjona"

Got a PM/email from "Jackjona" and here is the message:

Hello, Davis has been trying to part out with his OM616 NON-EGR exhaust manifold and it's in excellent condition.. I'll suggest that you should contact him to know if it's still available. Here's email: greendavis700@gmail.com

Just a heads up. This is why I am generally hesitant to post a WTT or WTB on this forum

I’ve found that on public forums when you post a wtb thread, it mostly attracts these type of responses unfortunately form people not usually on the forum.

The nutty thing is that there seems to be endless "forum members" who joined and send either a PM or an email. By the email method, they scammers seem to fly under the radar versus the PM route.

For a while, I had a couple clients for whom I was finding tenants for their units. Oh my God, the scammers that come out of the woodwork.

Stuff like "I'm going to be living in your city for two years starting XX/XX, working for the EPA. This unit will be perfect for me. Please hold it for me, I will send you first and last and a deposit, tell me how much you want. I played along with a few of them, thinking I would waste their time. The routine was like "oh my God, my secretary, made it for $2000 too much. Could you please deposit it and send me the balance and Keep a few extra hundred extra for your trouble?"

At first the cashiers check I got were pretty amateurish. I did it maybe four times, the checks got better. After I lowered the boom on one he came back with "work with me."

I'm thinking oh yeah, native English skills would probably help his transparently bad routine. About this time I realized I was wasting my time more than I was theirs. There seems to be huge numbers of these fools.
