Anybody know where to get production numbers on cars?

I took the e550 out to my remote test road. We accelerated to 110 on the straight but whoopty do road in the rain. Totally stable.

My car has 18" rims. Can I go to 17 and run a tire with more in the sidewall for safer handling? Tire rack says no. Visually it looks roomy.

Do uou have sufficient clearance for all four brake calipers? Even the tamer 2010 E350 coupe ran on 18's. Does the owner's manual discuss alternate tire sizes for winter tires?

hard to say. Id probably lean toward yes -- w204s came with 17s. Id probably check to see if the calipers and/or hubs are the same PNs between 204s and the e coupe and go from there -- 204 sport package came witb 18s i think, but not sure on different brake packages. I could see MB fitting larger calipers for the coupe to accomodate the increased weight of the general car and v8.

Stock w212 e350s also came with 17s.

yesterday i got four new michelin and four new wheels. the old rims are available...originals ... one has been curbed and is bent a little. for sale.any reasonable offer.

the new wheels are five spokes. they look like something off a mustang.

What style are your old ones? 6/12 spokers? I have those on my 550 but they are in terrible shape. Probably going to cost too much to ship but might be interested if itd the same style I can refinish.
