Surf's up
' An 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Russia triggered tsunami alerts across the Pacific Ocean and the U.S. West Coast. The U.S. Geological Survey says the earthquake happened 85 miles off the east coast of Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula at a depth of nearly 12 miles. Tsunami warnings were issued for Alaska's Aleutian Islands and Hawaii. A tsunami watch was issued for the West Coast, including southern Alaska, California, Washington and Oregon, including Los Angeles Harbor. '

We live on the W coast on a bluff about 70' but a lot of the town is at sea level. Some concern but became a non event. We had just finished watching the Indian Ocean Tsunami mini series when the warning came.
