1976 930 turbo original owner 826,000 miles

This man gets my respect. So many people buy these dream cars/super cars and just drive them occasionally. To put over 3/4 of a million miles on one is just unheard of. The 930 has always been one of my dream cars.

A Canadian man who bought a 1976 Porsche 911 Turbo brand new and driven it 826,664 miles has explained why he can’t stop driving it.

Bill MacEachern was interviewed by TJ Lamb, from the Magnacars YouTube channel, about his driving experience.

He’s had a lot of great memories with this car, ranging from road trips to motorsports.

Having gone as far as to say Porsche ‘got it perfect’ with this car, there’s no question about his fondness for the 911 Turbo – but what makes it so special?

When these cars were new on showroom floor my dad had an Audi. The Audi dealer in Macon also sold Porsche. I well remember admiring (IIRC a 1978 or 79) a red 930 turbo on the showroom floor with a sticker price of $33k. $8k more than the first house I purchased in 1985.

The early 930's were infamous for their trailing-throttle oversteer. Many an example left the road tail-first back in the day...
