Dark Energy
I've been seeing video promos lately pushing the latest big thing with a tip that can't miss - a stock from some tiny company that's going to go big - they are trying to imply that someone is going to harness dark energy on earth. Who knows, but I'm thinking it has to be bogus.

If such knowledge existed you can bet the gov would be all over it like flies on chit. Usurped for national security. Yesterday.

I'm a little stunned at what looks like a naked attempt to fleece the rubes. Everything I've read indicates that the understanding of it is essentially theoretical. Direct evidence of it operating or how it operates is not to be had, so far.
My guess is the profiteering class has figured out that the public has heard the phrase "dark energy" and don't know much about it, which oddly is much like the scientific world: "don't know much about it." It strikes me that it's something in the realm of gravity. A powerful force in its own way, but not something you can harness and put in a gas tank.

The more I research it, is not completely bogus only half bogus. They call a dark energy because it will not be destined to see the light of day of the power grid. They're talking about natural gas powering jet turbines to generate electricity on site for data centers mainly, if not exclusively, "behind the meter" they call it.
In conventional natural gas generating plants, they have a double cycle set up, also uses natural gas to power turbines, and then the waste heat is used for a secondary tapping, produces steam, used for turbines stage two. It nearly doubles the efficiency. I'm guessing that takes too much time to prepare for the "dark energy" in question in these facilities. One imagines they would eventually evolve to that method.
