Engine builder owns their mistake.

Im guessing there are not lot of companies like this.

They build a high performance diesel engine and apparently the engine builder made a mistake that 1 yr later caused the engine to self destruct.

The builder tore the engine down expecting to fine signs of neglect. What they found was one piece that was incorrect. I suspect no one would have known if they say it was neglect and not builder error. The owned the mistake and gave him a brand new engine.

Thats integrity.

During disassembly, a technician noticed something wrong with one of the connecting rods. The rod bearings specified for the build were of a gun-drilled design, which incorporates a small internal channel bored through the connecting rod to deliver pressurized oil from the crankshaft journal directly to the wrist pin bushing. The bushing had been installed correctly. The hole through the bearing to actually feed it with oil had never been drilled.

Floating wrist pins require pressurized oil delivery to maintain their extraordinarily tight two-to-three ten-thousandths-of-an-inch clearances – and without it, the pin ground to a halt inside its bushing. The rod couldn't move. The engine's own torque bent the connecting rod, fractured components throughout the block, and punched a hole through the casing. The shop owner's assessment on camera was blunt: "The builder overlooked drilling a hole. This racing bearing, all he had to do was drill a hole in that… and this motor wouldn't have failed."

The builder in question had already left the shop more than a year before the teardown. That detail didn't change anything for the owner's decision. He called Eric live on camera, apologized, and told him directly: "You'll get a brand new motor built, no charge."

Eric's response, for what it's worth: "Thanks for honoring your work. I appreciate that."

First 2 quoted bits came from the OPost, made me think the builder left a present behind on his exit. But it could have been that he was gone before that engine got processed. I sought clarification. I read the article & found the third bit and see the issue is the OPoster's reading comprehension skillz. Can't be trusted.

Your claim seems to be that post #2 is too sophisticated & therefore beyond your comprehension? I'll add clarification that you presented a falsehood in the OP. Par for the course with you: you not infrequently don't get things quite right. Seems you spend much time posting here. Why don't you slow down, proof read, get things right and present better content for everyone else. You won't get your ballz busted so much and everyone would enjoy the place more, including you.
