I'm not based in Africa, But I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and Raised in the U.S.
Beautiful country out in Africa. I have been back a few times, and I have loved it. Once day I plan on taking trips to various African countries, just to explore the beautiful countryside that exists out there and the amazing wildlife. Its also great to see all the culture out there too. I love taking in other cultures. My only problem I am running into is whether or not to apply to Law School as an African-American when I am not what you would call the percieved Definition of an African-American.... Alon

hey dats easy ashman
It all depends on your answer to this question: Are your folks full blooded americans, full blooded afrikaans or part-american ,part-afrikaan.
That would allow you determine what you truly are , it matters d least where u were born. I think your nationality comes from the origins of your folks.. Just ma opinion really, but thanks for the reply though..........

Parents were born and raised in South Africa.
I was born there, raised in Los Angeles. I was a south African citizen until I was 12 years old. Then I became an american citizen. By all technicality, I think that would make me African American, but not based on the definition most would consider African American. Its a hard thing to decide ya know. My dad says I should apply as an African-American. Alon

ma man .........................
Ash in my own opinion , you are a SOUTH AFRICAN !!! You just had the oppurtunity of having a dual citizenship a la american citizen.
I dont think you qualify to be an afro-american in the general definition of the afro-american heritage. Just ma opinion.
