What are some reasons to have more then 1 Mercedes-Benz?

1. I have an 88 260E and a 87 190E and most of the parts are interchangeable this comes in very handy.
2. You can test a lot of components between cars (be careful on electrical items!).
3. If one brakes down you can take the part of the other and use it just to bring it back home, this gives you time to choose who you want to buy the part from at your comfortable price.
4. You can do eight wheel rotations.
5. Your friends and neighbor will envy you!
6. You can save on “case price” when buying fluid like oil and ATF.
7. You can wear your Mercedes-Benz apparel and it will apply anytime.

When one needs service - drive another one. One of my three always needs some work.

because nobody can have just one!!

For me, if I could, I'd have two at least. each one is a work of art, and I like several mercedes works of art, so I plan on having several of them in my stable.

Your oldest son will get either a 240D or 300D to start driving on when he turn 16 (got 3 more years to get it where it needs to be ).
AND there is always a spare car around when you need it.

Obviously, the reasons for owning more than one Mercedes are a little different than the reasons for owning more than one English car....

Wink Decoration

My '79 300D (Mellow Yellow as my 15 yr old daughter calls it) matches the color of my house.
My wife's Smoke '86 300E just looks good.

Actually, I take comfort in knowing that I have safe, reliable transportation, no car payments and lower insurance premiums than the monster SUVs that surround me. My diesel fuel is cheaper than gas. This leaves me with more pocket change to spend on my family.

The only person I'm out to impress is me and as you can tell, it doesn't take much.

Because I can buy common parts and tools in bulk, and can use them on any of the vehicles!

This weekend's purchase: A dozen 1.2 watt bulbs for the instrument clusters...

Because you can!

It's not that much of an expense or bother having two 123s. I'd like to make these jaspers last for the rest of my life. The world is quickly filling up with junk, and to try and keep a few benchmarks of "quality," rational, motoring sure beats the alternatives.

A couple of years ago somebody asked my cousin why he owned 4 cars...

He responded "Its all I can afford right now"

I think some people would call this an addiction.

Not me.

Cool

I don't own two Benzes (yet; I love my 300D but still want a 123 wagon...someday), but I own two vehicles.
If one breaks down, I can use the other as a parts-getter. Fortunately, since I got the Benz, neither the 300D or my pickup have died for any reason. Also, my Benz gets 30mpg while my pickup gets 15mpg; the truck's used for play (it is a 4x4 after all, and I can't afford a 'Mog) and work, and the Benz is used for play (it loves mountain roads, as I have proven) and daily commute driving.

The best of both worlds...now all I need is that 123 station wagon and a '92 or '93 Dodge Cummins pickup and I'm set for life.
