This forum...

is the best written, most interesting, objective, and stimulating on this corner of the globe.

The forums in GermanCarFans.com have been reduced to a bunch of dummies talking about styling and "what is coming out next" over and over and over again.

etcetera etcetera etcetera

These losers don't even own the brand of vehicles they are talking about.

I am also sick of all this "ghetto talk" on top of poor spelling and grammar.

I now have to stay away from some forums due to the headaches that result from each visit...

Anyone agree here?

Mike McKinney

It's pretty good.

The BrickBoard (Volvo Forum) would rate as high in my book if it wasn't for the archaic forum interface (look at www.brickboard.com and see what I mean).

I may be young but I don't have a high tolerance for spending a lot of time on the internet. The people on this board seem to be all great and very honest. I'm glad I found this website both for my technical problems and as a way to productively kill my time.

Brickboard is great too. I used that when I had my Volvo. Sad about no longer needing Brickboard, not sad that my Volvo is gone.

Thumbs up Ohhhh Yeah ! ! ! !

Mercedesshop is compromised of some of the best folks around.

I especially like the diversity of the opinions that show up. I believe that is what makes it such a great place.

Not to mention the fact that I have personally met numerous members, as I am sure some of you have as well.

As far as other forums, I don't want to go into it too much, but the now defunct b*nzsport.com was "chock-full-O" jokers.

For a site that was supposed to be dedicated to Mercedes & the tuning of, I was thourghly disappointed in the way it was run. There was too much talk about the same old stuff & it didn't seem to me anyway, that there was enough heads with any extensive knowledge about Merc's in general.

They seemed to focus more on the (W202) & the (W210) cars & the modification of them. Some members met for a GTG and basically were disrespecting people driving a typical 300E (W124) and even a 16vlv. But acted as if their 1994 C220 w/ $3k in body & lighting mods was tops.

Well I guess I have ranted enough, even though I said I wouldn't but hey that's why I like it here soooooo much. OPEN DISCUSSION right ?

Agreed! I'm new to this whole discussion board thing, and my wife thinks I've turned into an internet geek, but this is quite enjoyable and mentally stimulating, all at the same time! I came here looking for some help with the MB, and found exactly what I was looking for. This other stuff was a good bonus.

Agreed.

Mercedesshop seems to be one of the few automotive forums where you can talk about cars in general, including other makes, objectively. Also very few threads on what bodykit looks best, or how much hp will a K&N filter give me like in all other forums. I read pretty much every car related discussion here and have picked up a lot of knowledge.

I read Brickbaord too, but its crippled by its layout, I cant read it for more then 10 minutes or I get frustrated.

Howdy All & Jeff
This is a great site. As some of you know I'm a little interested in Mogs. This forum lacks the tech. part in that aspect but there is is still some good info to be had. If I need Mog tech info I use the Mog mailing list. Then I come to the open forum for everything else. Hey Jeff!¡ Did you get the e-mail with the info I sent you?¿

Never been on a board until this one. Looked at a couple others and can't stand them. Great people and discussions here ranging from politics to religion to cars to whatever else including razor blades. (Yeah, razor blades!)

Where else could ya wanna go??

Frank, I got the email. Sorry, I should have thanked you for the info. Rockymountainmoggers is indeed a good site. Mogs rule! I'll check with you for more advice when I'm ready to pony up.

I love it! The best MB-related website I've seen, by far.

Since my VERY reliable 79 300SD has given me very little trouble, I've spent a great deal of my time on the Open Discussion forum, and I'm having a blast...I love debate...Much to the annoyance of a couple of members, I'm sure.

The level of civility, intelligence, skill, manners, knowledge and humor displayed by the majority of members here is unmatched elsewhere. I've made a couple of friends, a ton of long-distance "acquaintances", and maybe an enemy or two...and it's been great.

Thanks to Donnie, the Moderators, and everyone involved in maintaining this site.

Mike

Have met very few people here that I would rather have not met, and they've all left. Had a few disagreements with some, but big fat hairy deal! That's part of life! My brother and I have some serious differences of opinions, and he and I are each others best friends.
I use a couple other forums as stated in another thread, and they get boring real quick. If I don't see something in the first few minutes, I'm right back here.

I've been on sites where topics such as religion often degenerate into school-yard name calling in as few as 3 posts. It's refreshing to come to a place where anything can be discussed with a great deal of civility. This board has now become the one I check first over the others I participate in - even the Camaro board I moderate at comes second to this place. We have a wonderful community here
