LOL..............Bill you are correct about the time capsule, didn't have the heart to disturb it, I did toss out some old brown looking things, and cleaned up the dust, etc.

And for you Mike, you invite open fire, and use the word assume. How old are you?

Most of my friends love cars and have the means to own anything they want, they also love to take care of their stable. On the other hand some of my friends could care less and just pay cash for their ride and drive it into the ground, just to call the dealer and have them deliver another.

One of my partners has a net worth of over $100 million, nice guy, but you would not want to own one of his 3 year old cars!

Stuff found:
E-320 clean
190E 16valve don't know
300-D just lots of fiber which I vacuumed

On the food stamps tangent:
I live in the DC area too, and have seen dealerships like that "Hotwheels" dealership. Sure, some people need food stamps to get by, but there sure is a lot of abuse in the system. One of my housemates was telling me only yesterday of a common scam where illegal immigrants obtain both a driver's liscense and a social security card which they then use to get food stamps. I love giving almost half my income in taxes to help support stuff like that.

No, I don't have ANY problem giving foodstamps/ other Federal assistance to those who are legit. Maybe we should spend more of that money policing the system against abuse?? Imagine the savings!! (Oh yeah, it's the Feds. Forget it.)

Found a gun...

I was turning in my QX4 lease on Monday (which was replaced by a 91 190E), and during the inspection the guy next to us pulled out a handgun from a minivan he was cleaning out. I thought he was going to blow us all away the way he was handling it. I stood on the other side of the car, while everyone from the inspection place gawked and went bonkers over their new find.

The R129s have those neat map pockets on the doors. Also pretty stealthy, and most of the time I forget stuff resides there.

Apparently so did the previous owner.

We purchased our SL used, and prior to leaving the lot, I started getting acclimated with the interior appointments, only to discover a handgun in the map pocket.

The salesperson discreetly removed the weapon from the car. He told me he later notified the previous owner who came by in a flash to reclaim his item!

Didn't find any food stamps in the back seat of my W124, but there was some government cheese in the console!

This "food stamp" debate is kind of interesting...someone start a new thread on that one...

What is wrong with assuming? And why do you ask my age?

Mike
