St. John's Catholic Church in McLean, Virginia-- new parishoner. Father Hathaway, paster.

BTW, I do a lot of work at the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development which is under Sec. Martinez, a presidential appointee. I sat two pews behind him and his family there a few weeks back. Nice to see some of our elected officials actually attending Mass/other services.

On occasion I'll still go to St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Great Falls, Virginia (former parishoner). Father McAfee, paster.

(Yeah, I know you weren't asking that. )

Please consult the Amnesty International thread.

Yah, I figured. Just had to rib back
But I am expecting some kind of attack on this thread.
I go to church regularly, but chose to remain annonamouse(sp?). Not afraid or ashamed of what I am, just don't see the need for it here. (All my friends know who/what I am) Let's just say I belong to what some consider one of those kinda contraversial(sp? again) ones and leave it at that

I'm gonna cut you some slack here and assume you haven't yet had your coffee this morning. Please, PLEASE, try and understand that this is where we meet people, create relationships, make friends, and even conduct business. Sometimes people need to talk about things other than cars, but we also like to talk about things among friends.

The Met Church.

http://metchurch.com/

Interdenominational (I grew up Catholic by faith), but I love the pastor and especially the youth program.

I play keyboards during services (we have a three-deep rotation on musicians), and you neever know what is going to happen for services from one week to the next.

We ended last Sunday with Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant". Last year's Easter services were kicked off with a tune by "Creed".

A lot of fun. I think people would attend more often if their church of choice offered them a reason to want to go...

rickg, let me guess - Scientology?!!!

That's one of the greatest things about this country - everyone is free to do their own thing when it comes to religion. I'm also one of those non-demoninational types brought up Catholic.

P.S. spell checker - anonymous

I normally don't contribute to political (correctness or otherwise), religious, and/or moral threads but I feel strongly enough about this to comment.

Being a "church-goer" has absolutely NOTHING to do with whether a person is nice or not, courteous or disrespectful, educated or not, affluent or otherwise.

Just my two cents worth...and Tank, this is not directed at you as I don't think you were generalizing/stereotyping...just poking back at Kuan.
