Windshield LEak

Bought a 96 S320 with 80K+ miles on it. At around 50MPH and higher, I hear wind noise coming from the upper center windshield area (no evidence of water leak). I masking taped the area between the glass and the chrome trim and still heard the noise. Removed that tape and placed masking tape between the trim and the roof. Noise eliminated. Since the car had a bumper-to-bumper warranty I discussed with the Mechanic who then replaced the windshield under warranty. Still have wind noise. Anyone heard of this type problem and possible solution? I've thought of using a large gauge needle with a liquid rubber type product to lay down a bead across the entire area where the new windshield seal is located, just haven't done it yet.
