A word of caution...... be carefull when making sharp turns if someone is swimming. I lost two kids yesterday going to the beer store!

In ground, indoor pool

I dont know if you have considered this or what your budget is, but what about an inground, indoor pool?

1) no need to worry about snakes, etc. falling in

2) no need to worry about kids falling in (as much) because the pool will be in a greenhouse looking room which you can lock the doors. Same with neighborhood kids.

Sure they can smash the window or break the door down, but its less likely to happen than just climbing a fence.

3) maintence will be easier since its indoors, no need to worry about raking leaves out of it, no serious variations in the climate (this also depends where you live too), etc.

4) depending on the neighborhood, type of house, etc. it *may* add value to your house. Having an indoor/inground pool is kind of like a luxury feature.

5) you get more use out of your pool if you have climate controls and can swim in the wintertime.
