Horse hair brush, I'll have to look for one of those. Speaking of cleaning up waxes though I noticed there is a 'wax as you dry' idea by Eagle 1 which you spray on before drying. I do like a buildup wax, but do you think this could stretch the time between doing such or is not worth the money at all?

Maybe it is because it is late/early but I don't understand how Nufinish can be BOTH a wax and a polish? I always thought polishes took wax off and made it shine, where as waxs coated the previous layer and protected it from the elements. My talon has yellowed a little from all the wax on it. If I find a wax I really like I'd consider polishing it back to the clearcoat then waxing it a few times. After a heavy polishing I never just wax once.

Is there such a thing as too shiny? Maybe I should give it a try, some shop did a horrible job repainting my 84 before I bought it. I've cleaned it up moderatly, but I still wouldn't mind more shine. It isn't one of those artificial shines that wash off after the first time it gets wet, is it?

It says on the bottle to do small areas at a time . The reason , if you let it dry too long it's kind of hard to get off . That is also why your getting circles . Wipe on with moist towel so you don't get it too thick and wipe it off in about 20 or 30 minutes . Don't apply to whole car then start taking it off . Subsequent applications will even out places that look uneven . I swear by Nufinish . You want to seal that paint so it won't combine with O2 and start oxidizing , the beginning of the end .

Sounds pretty good, maybe I'll give it a try. It is just called Nufinish, no special name or number? Can it be found just a local auto parts store?

I wish I could be as anal as you guys! I lack both the time and facility for such activities. I think removing the door handles and detailing wheel wells are great ideas. As of now I'm lucky if I make it to the car wash within the month!

Maybe when I retire...

I used the tire stuff for my wheels, and I shined the inside too

I have used Nu-finish for years and it works great!!!

Yea I use 303 Aerospace on my interior, I also use Meguirs Endurance, high gloss on the tires.

I was talking mostly about parts for the two cars. For example,,, a door shell for my SL lists for around$650,,,, the same part for a 911 is around $1700. A fender for the SL is $220. Same fender for the Porsche is either $2000 if it's a turbo or only $850 for a non turbo,,, and the list goes on, and on. I have no idea what typical service for a Porsche costs,,,, sorry.

Most of the time I ''wash'' my car with water only . This takes off the dust and light dirt without sacrificing my nufinish protectent on the paint and dressing on my tires . The first initial rinse of water on the car is the most importent because it rinses off most of the abrasive dust and dirt even before I use my soft bristled wash brush . I only use very very light detergent for bird crap and misc non ''plain water soluable'' substances every now and then . Since I live in Arizona mud is never an issue . I keep my MB garaged so it stays pretty clean . The main thing that kills car finishes and interiors out here is UV exposure so a garage is a must for nice cars .
