Hm, I should invent a spinner rim with a counter-rotating mechanism, so it looks like the wheel is stationary when the car is moving.

Those spinners that were put on that car for $4,000 was a "chopper kit". Authentic spinning rims 24 inch range from $10,000-$20,000. Lets not even talk about 26 inch spinning rims. $24,000+. 26 inch rims are the latest style. Tires are $3,000 A PIECE!!!! Ive seen many cars in Miami with the rims though. I Kinda wonder how 20 year old kids get that much money???
I'm 21 and bust my butt to keep up my 300E.

How about just taking the wheels that they make now and weighting one side of it down? That oughta keep them stationary.

The new rolls phantom has spinners in the wheels. the rolls logos always say RR when the wheels are spinning because they themselves do not spin with the wheels. Looks hella cool.

I have seena white C class in LA with 20" spinners painted black with white spinners. The car looks fugly with those rims, especially when they are spinning.

Save the spinners for the SUV's. They dont belong on passenger cars, and don't look good to me anyway.

I saw an ML on at least 22" wheels the other day, the wheels were way too big looking. 20 is the biggest I would go on a newer benz that could handle them, but I'd prefer 18, maybe 19 at the most.

For my 300Ce, 17's are perfect. I may get 18's later as an extra set of wheels or another pair of 17's so I can have different styles.

For awhile, I wanted to slam my 220D on airbag suspension and make my stock classic mercedes 14" hubcaps into spinners.

I think it would have been classy and pimp.

Everywhere I go I hear those wheels refered to simply as "Spreewells". $24k? What more-money-than-brains dumba$$ is going to fork over that kind of dough for a set of wheels?

Me personally, I would damn near kill to have more money than brains (like in that example), as I would have approximately one a$$load of money.

Cazzidy,

That's a heck of an idea. When you get your 3 pointed star hubcaps spinnin' on your 220D, please pretty please take a MPEG of it and show us all. LOL.

I honesty don't understand the attraction of spinners. First, once these puppies get on the older side, one of those bearings is going to let loose and the spinner is going to fly off at 80 mph. That is going to decapitate somebody.

Second, spinners are like hydraulic systems that make your car hop up and down. What is the point: They are expensive and add naada to the functionality of the car. If you are going to spend the dough on wheels, get some that are lighter, stronger, etc.
