Debating?!?!?
While driving my 126 today I was getting frustrated with poor performance of the aged transmission.
Now im debating on whether to do the repaint next year and the money I saved up for it to use on a transmission rebuild this summer. Now this is what I want to know..... What problems will a transmission rebuild repair? How good will the car drive after? Does a aged tranny affect the speed of the car (i.e...0-60time)? How much would it cost? Has anyone done a tranny rebuld on their MB? Guys, please help me in decided what to do on the car....much appreciated!

I would do the Transmission job first, you would hate to have a nice painted car on side of the road. I would think you should get it done for about $600 to 700 bucks..

Mark.. I say the same thing. Get the car mechanically done then do cosmetics. You wouldn't want a giant heep of metal on wheels with fresh paint. On a side not... your PM box is full and I am not able to reply to you.

BenzO, recently had the tranny completely rebuilt, with MB suggested upgrades, at Brownie's IT (they're all over). '75 450SL and it set me back (deep breath now)...$2,000!! Was that too much? Don't know, seemed to be the going price give or take a few dollars. Much nicer ride now.
