Mercedes A/C

When you guys have your AC on how much of a load does it have on your engines? On my 380 when i hit the switch the load makes the car "tug" back cause its a great increase in load while driving. When getting onto a highway I sometimes have to shut it off cause I need that extra power that was lost.

I think its because the compressor is so big and the engine aint a "spring chicken" anymore.

Opinions?
