If so, just use the quote button.

No mamn, I'm referring to something like;

"You may want to check out this thread"

mercedesshop/***55%%%#####

for use when trying to direct someone back to an earlier post.

Okay that is easy.

Use the "http://" button when responding or typing a new thread. (This button shows up right above your text box in which you type in).

After you hit the button, the first thing says enter text, basically that is whatever you want to name your link.

After you do that just click "ok" then it will tell you to enter the full url, after you do that just click "ok" again and you are done.

You do have to go back to the original thread, but only to get the correct url, but you can copy-n-paste the address/url, you don't have to type it.

Navigate to the thread you want to mention in the link. The address for it will be in the address line of your browser. Just right-click your mouse on the address and select "Copy" from the popup menu. That will save the address into the clipboard. go to the new thread where you want to create the link, start your post, hit the "http://" button as mention above. When you get to the part where it wants the address, right-click on the text box and select "Paste" from the popup menu. Disregard all of the above if you're on a Mac.

Now that we're on the subject (Thanks Cap'n!)

How do you add a link to your signature? For example, I'd like to add a link next to each of my listed cars so people can look at pictures.

PS I know as a "junior member" with techniclly over 1,000 posts, I'll have to wait until I become a senior. But I'll do it then.

You have to use the same code that the system uses when you hit the "http://" button in a post. Unfortunately, there's no button to make it easy for you. Here's the format:

[ URL=http://www.peachparts.com ] Mercedesshop [ /URL ]

Take out the spaces next to the brackets to make it work. I though everyone was allowed to have a signature. Can you not have one as a junior member?

Thanks for the info!

Yeah, if I remember correctly when I joined the forum a year ago, it wasn't until I had reached 30 or so posts that I became a senior member with all the "rights and privelages hereto".

I'll give it a try when I reach senior status!

PS Duh! I just noticed I'm no longer a junior member now that I've got over 30 posts. I'll try adding a signature with picutures tonight or tomorrow.

You can also press Ctrl+C for Copy and Ctrl+V for Paste.

This makes things a little quicker, and you only need your left hand...leaving your right hand free for your favorite beverage.
