What wonders me, though, is why he wants to become a political leader in the US at all? He's Austian, and moved to the US for carreer-reasons when he was already an adult. So why not run for office in Austria, 'to give something back' to his own countrymen? They can certainly use some fresh blood there.

This is a decent bio of Arnold's achievments. I think that saying that Arnold had good genes takes so much from him. What genes did he use to promote prop 49 that gave 550 mil to before and after school programs? (Since some parents do a horible job of parenting, I think these programs rescue some kids who would otherwise be lost to the streets) The same genes that gave him an indomitable spirit. No one can say what kind of political leader he will be until he has a chance to work at it. Popular figures in American history had mixed records in politics. Grant was a great general but lead a corrupt presidential administration. Teddy Roosevelt was a great achiever before, during and after his presidency. I think that it is easy to see why Arnold left Europe. After reading his bio I think that he probably felt that he had done all that he could in Europe and needed to come to America to go higher. Just as any great achiever does, you have to keep moving up. So many great achievers have been admired for achieving just one or two things, but Arnold has continued to move upward. Most of us would be content to stop and oversee our money if we were in his position. Remember the Apollo Astronauts that had such adjustment problems after their mission ended? They had spent all of their lives trying to get to the moon. They didn't have any plans after that. Arnold has plans. |

If deregulating electricity means building power plants, then he is on the right track.
