Why does spam have garbled subject lines?
Seems all the spam I get lately has garbled subject lines...is this some effort to thwart spam blocking software?

I think some of it is to avoid spamkillers, however, some of the spammers clearly just kant spel correctly.

I thought it was the different character sets, also, but much of it has a correctly spelled word or several in amongst the crap. What gives? It may make it past a spamkiler but it's the surest sign to me that it's crap.

This was addressed in a news article. It's an effort to thwart spam blocking software. I can't remember the exact nuts and bolts of this, but each message sent becomes unique to the receiver, while somehow the spam blocking software looks for repetitive, same subject lines.
