(MO) CCW passed!!!

Missouri just passed a shall-issue Concealed Carry Weapons law! They have now "allowed" their subjects to be trusted with their Constitutionally guaranteed rights! How noble of them.

On top of that, they recognize carry permits from all shall-issue states as well! Woohoo!

Ok, some terminology:

CCW: Carry Concealed Weapons. Like a gun, lethal weapon, etc.

Shall Issue: If all qualifications are met (no felonies, classes passed w/ flying colors, background & medical passed, etc) then the state MUST issue after a certain number of days (varies from state to state) has passed.

May Issue: If all qualifications are met, the state does not have to issue if it doesnt fee like it.

Vermont-style Carry: No law prohibiting CCW. If you are legal to own a firearm, you are legal to carry w/ respect to law (no bars, police stations, etc.)

This is good news! More and more people are realizing that CCW laws are not the devil and blood will not run in the streets! It infact reduces crime and is (actually) guaranteed (no matter what anyone tells you) under the 2nd amendment. Actually, the RKBA means that CCW laws and prohibition laws, restriction laws, etc. are illegal. But that is an entirely different issue.

Welcome to the club. I am all for choice.....in fact, we Georgians have had shall issue CCW laws on the books for ages. I am also a member of the NRA (though not for 'political' reasons.)

For my work, I am licensed as a P.I., but I choose NOT to carry. It is a huge responsibility carrying a deadly weapon around constantly.

I'm glad your state now allows the choice. If you decide to carry, please be careful
