Shipping wheels and tires: How, where, how much?

So I'm trying to ship stock 16" chromies off a W210 with tires on it. Each tire/wheel weights 40.8lbs.

FedEx said: $60 ea, including the circular cardbox cutout on the face of the wheels, where basically, the tire itself acts as protection/box.

UPS (mail box ETC) said: I Forgot, but it was some ridiculous price.

I wanted to keep the shipping at around $100, as I will split the shipping costs with the buyer.

The wheels/tires will be going from California (93420) to PA (17872)

Anybody got a tip?

speaking of UPS.. how would I go on about sending an item? Would I call UPS on the phone to come pick it up? Where would I pay?
