Concours pics including our class winning 300TE
We recently entered both our 300TE and my 190E-2.3 Sportline in the annual concours of the MB Club of NSW here in Sydney, Australia. Both cars were in the same class (which covers W124, W201, and pre '96 W140, W202 & R129). My 190E didn't take any awards but the 300TE won the class in what was the biggest class on the day. 2nd in class was another W124, a nice '93 320CE. The only other W201 entered was a (rare in Oz) 2.3-16.

Congrats!
Greg,
Nice cars! Is the rear wing standard on Sportline models in Oz? I too like the color changes to the valve cover and air filter housing. ![]() Is that a CD changer in the back of the wagon? Did you have the cover custom made to match the stock carpeting? I like it! One side note...please be careful working under your cars while using the factory jack. I'm hoping you use jack stands! |

Hey, the judges should take points away for having the steering wheel on the wrong side...
![]() Nice car, wish my TD were as clean. |

Thanks for the nice comments.
Glen, I believe the rear wing on the Sportline was an option as I have seen others here without it. The wing is the same as that on the 2.3-16. The idea for the colour scheme on the M102 engine was as a result of a member on one of the forums with the same colours on his M103. It is obviously not original which means it would be unlikely to take any award but I figured since both cars are in the same class and the 300TE is the better of the two then it did not matter. The carpeted box in the rear right of the wagon is a CD changer. It, like the head unit is an up-market Becker that was, I believe, fitted to the car from new. It is very neatly done in matching carpet with a hinged cover for access. Regarding the jack, I only use it to get the car onto stands. For clarity, the stands were removed for the photo. Zeitgeist, Our steering wheel is on the right side, not the left or wrong side!
