The ole abode improvements!
If you are in a climate zone where rain/snow are issues a van may be a better bet for hauling wood etc.
Truck is also a good thing but is best for landscaping etc, in a sunny dry area you could even haul furniture in it, but in a rainy area a covered van works the best. Just make sure you or your mechanic checks the vehicle over carefully for engine, transmission, electrical, brakes etc before you take it. Personally I have had tremendous luck with VW vans, as far as bullet proof dependability. The engine hump in the back cuts into the utility a bit but for my needs it did very well.
