Washing Machine Question
OK, so my wife and I bought into all the hype and a couple of years ago we bought a Maytag. It's been working fine but now it's not spinning all that well, which is the same problem we had with the old washing machine. I'm sure you know about it, the clothes are still a little wet. The repair man came over today and told her it was a Nordge washing machine. Maytag bought Nordge from Montgomery Ward.
The repair man said Whirlpool is the best but now I have no idea what to believe. I expected this thing to run longer than a few years and not need a new transmission. I was wondering if I were to change the fluid to Amsoil or another synthetic would that take care of my problem? The heat buildup would be less with the synthetic oil. I haven't heard any belt squeeling so it must be a direct drive. What causes the slippage? Any help appreciated, and no, I haven't looked at the guts or the service manual. Regards
