How to get oil off the driveway!?!?! PP product

Okay, How on earth can I get oil stains off the concrete driveway?

I noticed Performance Products had a product that did that. But I am extremely bothered by Performance Products business practices that I refuse to order from them unless absolutely necessary. Can anyone get the info out of the catalogue on the cleaner (Brand name etc)?

Or other products are welcome if you know of them.

Thanks

Eric

In the past I've simply used gasoline, acetone or even quick start. It all depended on the size and saturation of the stain. I'm not suggesting that you should use any of these methods though.

Peyton , is it a concrete or asphalt driveway ? Stains on concrete are almost impossible to remove 100 percent . Your local building supply will have the products you need. TSP will remove mild stains , muriatic acid will get stubborn stains out . Mostly you need elbow grease

I have always used powdered Tide, a sparing amount of water and a stiff bristled push broom going in circular directions. Has worked well for years. Actually works better on concrete than asphalt though will work on both. May take a couple of applications. Let us know what you finally use and how it worked.

Forget the hose! That would be a fine way to float the burning petro to another spot! Large blanket would work better. I still insist powdered Tide will work better. You can tell who does the laundry in my household!

Check out www.pour-n-restore.com

I'm waiting for a long dry spell to try it.

Has anyone tried Clorox?

I second the Tide nomination.
I used to use it when I ran out of hand cleaner too. You sure find out where you got cut though!

I know that works on carpet, but concrete?

LOL! No! Wine and Kool-Aid stains and stuff (if you have kids, it's indispensible), not oil.

Didn't think corn meal was caustic enough for oil stains...and certainly not able to remove stains from a porous surface such as concrete!

Might have to consider NOT eating any corn bread is the main ingredient is an effective floor degreaser!

Dawn Ultra. Make a concentrate and scrub, rinse, scrub, rinse, scrub. The stuff is fantastic on oil and grease.

Lightbulb Try this:

Castrol SuperClean works great: you may want to dilute it for other applications, though...
