Hey guys,
I have a 79 300d benz and the door molding popped off the passenger door not too long ago. I'm not sure what the best way to get it to stay back on is? I was thinking super glue, but it'll prob take more than that to get the whole molding to stay on and not pop off again, any suggestions? Thanks.

Determine which clips you need and then get them from the dealer. As I recall, they are not very expensive. Often several more are required than it first seems to be needed.

Good opportunity to clean the grime etc under the molding while you are there.

If the molding is that old and is cracked, I'd spend the money and have it replaced. You'd be amazed how much quieter the car is without all the wind noise!

I don't think you all are talking about the same molding I'm talking about! I'm not talking about the rubber molding in the doors, I'm talking about the molding strip on the outside of the car, you know the one that has chrome and black on it and goes around the whole car? Sorry for the confusion.

If it is the one I'm thinking of, it should have left a row of holes about 6" apart along the door. Your molding strip has prongs that fit into the holes. The holes should have little plastic grommets in them, though - you get these from the dealer for a few cents.

yeah some of em are on the strip and others are stuck in the holes, should I just get new ones?

I had this problem - you can't get them out easily - easiest to get some new ones, probably.
