hehe... do you ship to the US?

how much does it cost to fill up your 190 now by the way?

It cost me 45 quid to fill up my 405 when I was back home.

Costs me about 15 quid to fill up my 300E here:-)

Missing UK motorway speed limits (or lack thereof) though...

Chazola,

My town just installed its first roundabout. Its at a busy intersection. Folks from all over the community drove out there in order to see it, incidentaly creating a traffic jam, putting it to the test. The initial buzz has calmed and people seem to understand it now.

Have you driven much outside of PA? Last time I drove through that area was about 20 years ago. Had to drive something colorfully named the "Schuykill Expressway" in Philly. Probably misspelled. Scared me $hitless.

Botnst-

hehe, that's funny about the roundabout. They're everywhere in the UK now. There's one stretch on my old commute to London that had I think 8 in a row, with the roads in between having a 60-70mph speed limit...speed up, slow down, speed up, slow down...
Still, I'll take a roundabout over a 4-way stopsign everytime.

I've done most of my US driving in PA, with some trips to NY, NJ, DE, NC etc. In general PA drivers are the worst I've ever seen, especially in philly. Impatient, not paying attention, no idea how to drive on fast roads or at a constant speed. The NJ turnpike is also just a joke most of the time.

The schuykill expressway, as it's laughably named, is still a nightmare. I avoid it if I can. It's usually backed up with at least one accident a day. there's a road on the other side of the river called kelly drive which is good fun if you don't get stuck behind some slow bugger. Lots of twists and turns and only 1 set of lights in about 2 miles. You can usually glance to your left and see the traffic on the other side of the river sitting still on the 'expressway':-)

I live near Washington, but used to date a girl in Philadelphia. I totally agree with your sentiments about PA drivers.

Here in DC we have the George Washington Parkway. Like the Schuykill expressway, there is usually an accident every day. What makes it worse is that once you get on it, there are very few exits. You're stuck! I always take back roads into DC to avoid it.

Yeah I guess we could ship to the US

Costs about £40 to fill up I think - I try not to look. Get about 29-31 mpg.

Heh.. yeah I would miss the speed limits too - see pic.

N.B. You should be able to roughly guess what car that is. Plenty of mph to come.

(Of course, this never happened, it was computer generated and the wheels were jacked up in the air )

Nope - they were only '99 1.6 8v, '01&'02 1.6 16v, and '98 1.4 16v, so not really boy racer stuff. : (

I bought them from a friend in the motor trade at trade value and sold them on. Sort of a side line of mine ever since I won a car and sold it.

Now I have an Audi A6, also for sale though I was tempted to keep it.

As for number plates, they've totally tightened up supply - you have to have a license to make them and getting them is more difficult now. (Because of the ease of avoiding speed cameras & congestion chargeing with false ones).

But if you're still interested, contact me in March after my first set of Bristol University Finals and I can get some.

I hate England (well, mainly the government). How do you recommend moving to America? Write as much detail as you like....

thanks!

Rusty

After driving in Penna for 40 years, and throw in RVN, Korea, Japan, the worst drivers in the world are in New Hampshire with the Phila suburbs a close second. they are real jerks.

Up in rural PA, the cars on main street stop to let people turn left, let pedestrians cross the street, etc. and I've seen this for 25 yrs.

In Texas the slow guys pull to right so you can pass. We all wave to one antoher in the rural areas. But STAY OUT OF NEW HAMPSHIRE.

New Hampshire drivers are deffinitly the worse. I was crossing a road up there one night, there was about 1/2in of snow on it. I saw an Acura sedan comeing but he was pretty far, I figured when he saw me start to cross he would let off the gas a little. But he must have FLOORED IT! I was in the center of the road when he did this, and he was still a good distance from me but comeing real fast. I ran he passed me really close, he must have been doing 80+mph. Those Acura's can haul!
