Digital Camcorder?

I'm lost on digital camcorders. Anyone have a clue 'cause I sure don't. I walked into a store last night and there were at least 30+ different models. Naturally, the pimply face kid couldn't tell me a single thing about camcorders.

I researched the heck out of camcordes last year before the twins were born, and decided on the Sony TRV22.

It is easy to use, has a great LCD screen, and has Carl Zeiss lenses.

I agree with Suginami. I like the Sonys. I just bought the TRV-38 about 3 months ago, and I love it.

Large LCD Screen. Easy to use, and so far, durable.

Sony DCR-TRV120

Purchased a Sony DCR-TRV120 about four years ago. Works great! No problems at all. Most use has been in converting VHS tapes to video DVD-ROM and recording television programs for transfer to video DVD-ROM. Good lens - good zoom - stable platform - good color quality. Sadly, no longer available. It has a great infrared feature that was disabled in subsequent models. During dancing at a wedding reception when the room was darkened, you could see the "undies" of several of the young women. It is a fulfillment of what those X-Ray vision glasses that were sold in the old comic books. Considered getting a newer model, but after comparison, the old models are better. If I needed another one, I would search eBay for one of the older models.

I bought my Sony digital cam about three/four years ago. The picture quality is really great. I think it is TVR 9. However, currently there are more formats to be considered. There is the digital tape, mini digital tape(that's how they get the cameras so small, and there is the DVD format. So the choice is yours You are lucky with so many choices to choose from!
