I am the administrator of 190revolution.net -- forum for W201 owners.

I am often disapointed by the high school age demographics attitude and posting habbits. We have some of the most grammar-less, spelling mistake filled posts on the net.

Our "gentlemans lounge" is composed mostly of people posting an article about a car or recent absurd news story and people responding with "lol", "I'd hit it." "I neeeed!" or "thats lame". Not much depth.

We do have a small group of mature capable people (MTI for instance) who frequently post in the maintenance and performance areas of the forum. I frequently see truly great and informative threads.

I wish I could mix the youthful, liberal energy of 190rev with the mature, articulate, and intellegent posters from Mercedes Shop.

In the style of one of our "post whores" at 190rev:

"mercedeshop is relly good site .. i love teh good atittude... ok ... later"

I'd smack the back of your head, but I think I pulled a muscle trying to open the "child-proof" cap on my Viagra . . . :p

Thanks

B9 is alright. Nothing crazy really. More of a waste of money and cosmetic gain if anything

Checked their 107 page, as that's what I have; there's been one thread this year so far. The excitement is underwhelming...

I've followed boards for a while on other things I do; there's a boating board that got boring eventually, since it was more about posting style and low-level flames than useful content. This board and the 107 and 113 boards that Dorian runs are wonderful communities of people who are mostly interested in sharing knowledge and helping to solve problems; along with Nick Schade's kayak building forum, they're the best examples I've found on the Web. And yes, I do have too much time to surf--in the winter, when the Benz is hibernating and the kayak is too! Hats off to the moderators and to the fellow citizens of the community--something about "consent of the governed" comes to mind.

I used to post a fair amount at MBWorld. After their latest banning fiasco, I stopped visiting there entirely. Now it's either csportcoupe.com (they're changing it to c.klasse currently) and this site.

Every forum site has its different flavor and atmosphere. They've all got really good aspects. After all, we don't eat just one type of food or talk to only one type of person, do we? Unfortunately, MBWorld's latest just made me sick. They don't have to justify their actions, but I don't have to be a part of it either.
