I was surprised to read Robin Givens ran over a Cuban lady in FL and that she was "oblivious" to the fact until witnesses flagged her down. She was driving a 2000 ML. How could Givens have been oblivious to running over this lady? I guess if the witnesses hadn't stopped her it'd be another horrible case of hit and run.

If you'd have read the article closely, you'd have found the answer to your question. You see, it was the SUV that ran the lady over, not Ms. Givens. She had no control over the incident, her SUV was in control, therefore she was oblivious as stated.
