MB manual seat height adjustment: how does it work?

Whenever I sat on old MB (W123) with manual seat height adjustment, I had difficulty.

How does it work?

Does the manual seat height adjustment work in the same manner in recent MB models?

Pull the side lever and slide the seat forward to raise it and backward to lower it. Then pull the front lever to fine tune the fore-aft position.

Get a 126. The electric seat controls are less confusing
