Unhappy Advice Needed........

Hi Everyone,
I have an interesting predicament and I would like to get some advice on what I should do. About 2 months ago I sent an 86 300E camshaft to www.elgincams.com for some alterations. Beforehand, I talked with a gentalman named John, he told me to fill out thier web based form and send it in with the cam and they would do the work for me. I proceeded to check out the company and found them to be reputable, they had a nice website and claimed to have 50 years of experiance. So, I went ahead and sent in the camshaft and form to thier street address.
Since then, many weeks went by and I decided to give them a call last week. I recieved an answering machine so I continued to call randomly for the rest of the day. With no luck in contacting anyone I left a message and waited. Today I tried to access thier website,,, Gone! My guess is that after 50 years they decided to go out of business. What could I possibly do to get my camshaft back? It looks like I'm just going to have to wright it off but I'm hoping there may be some way to get it back.
HELP!!
Adam

is that Elgin Cams in Elgin, Il? If so, let me know as I will be out there this weekend and can perhaps encourage them personally for you (if there is anyone there).

Elgin Cams is located in California. According to several other car forums, they are known for excellent work, but can be slow to respond to customers (no excuse for the website being down, however).

Keep trying to reach them and let them know their website is down. Hopefully, it is just an oversight on their part.

Good luck!

From this point on, your contacts should also be documented. Send them a registered letter, return recipt requested, requesting information about your order and their situation.
