Here's a disciplined method for adding to your retirement. It works. Before you have kids you put a dollar in the bank for each time you have sex. After you have kids you take a dollar out each time you have sex. When you retire you'll notice a sizeable increase in your portfolio.

Yep, totally agree. Unfortunately, the wonderful one who was to be my wife killed herself in a car accident in winter of '89. Never have forgiven her. Wherever I end up when I leave here, I'm looking for her, when and if I find her, "domestic abuse" will be the least of her worries!

Mine works hard to keep in shape too, but her definition of "in shape" ain't found in MY dictionary. When I asked her to lose "weight" a few years ago, I SHOULD have said "MASS".

Oh yeah, just to show I'm a little of a hypocrite, I am TEN POUNDS over what I weighed in high school (am now 165 - 5'10") and, I'm no where NEAR 62, but I did have a doc tell me once, after looking over many old motorcycle racing injuries, Xrays, etc. that I was about 75 physically. I make up for it by acting like I'm 12 :-)

I think BMW drivers lie 2.2X better than drivers of other makes.

What have you broken/smashed/made-useless?

I broke almost all the ribs in my right side in the back. My middle finger on my right hand three times, my foot and my big toe.

I've also had some very deep bruises and some horrific scrapes.

From automobiles I've dislocated my knee, amputated my ear lobe and had an ER attending pick glass out of my head for nearly an hour with a pair of pliers.

Thanks to always wearing the best full-face skid-lid money could buy I have all my teeth and my purty face has escaped injury.

I have no metal inside me, surprisingly. I had a particularly bad get-off that witness figured they would have to mop me up from, and I walked away. The most serious one I had was far from the town on a cut road. I wasn't injured too badly (broke my foot and middle finger) but because I was far from help, I had to ride injured back to civilization. I crashed at higher speeds racing on pavement, but my big hurts came on moto-cross bikes. Dirt may be softer and the speeds lower, but those jumps, man, those jumps...

Ah to be young and stupid again...

Sounds familiar. I was roadrace which is MUCH safer than MX (did some trials and MX, but not for long.)

On the street, right leg was Fx twice, a few years apart, first was a double compound of the tib/fib and a simple displaced of the femur, mid-shaft. Broke two front right ribs and pulled my thumb out on that same one. Next one I did a multiple of the femur at the knee, has a plate running up the femur and 12 screws holding everything in. One crash I cracked a crevical vertibra. Another a few bones in my R foot (trapped between bike and armco.) Of course, gads of rash and such, but mostly from burned flesh sticking to the inside of my leathers (ALWAYS wore leathers and a Snell appvd. helmet.)

The track was pretty mild compared to the street. Collar bone Fx once, right hip dislocation twice, left hip once, both shoulders so many times they just roll in and out now, one Fx ulna and a cracked (non-displaced) humerus. Two broken metacarpals.

Needless to say, I can't afford to ride anymore with hospital bills the way they are getting!
